With the Government funding £7500 through the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (see below) towards the cost of an air source heat pump, now maybe the time to replace your existing fossil fuel or oil boiler.
Air source heat pumps work by absorbing heat from the air and transferring that heat into your home – they still work in temperatures well below freezing. Heat pumps run off electricity so are ideal to run alongside solar panels.
An external heat pump unit has to be installed on an external wall – 1 metre away from neighbouring properties, opening doors and bedroom windows. When correctly installed, modern heat pumps are no louder than a fridge.
At Enviroplanet we take great pride in installing Mitsubishi Ecodan heat pumps – these are available in a variety of sizes making them versatile to different sized homes. Should the homeowner’s energy needs require them, there are a range of accessories that come with them.

Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS)
The Government have set aside £450 million for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) to support their vision of net zero by 2050. The increased funding of £7500 for homeowners will be available until April 2025.
You maybe thinking that there must be lots of paperwork to receive this funding but other than giving your permission, there is no paperwork for you to complete – the installer does this all for you!
To be eligible to apply to the BUS the following conditions must be met:
A valid Energy Performance Certificate must be available for the property; all wall and loft insulation work must be completed before an application can be made for heat pump funding.
You must own your own home – new builds are not eligible. If you are in rented accommodation, the landlord must apply for the scheme not the tenant.
Key Benefits
